Headbanging until Death is not only one of the most important lines from the song We are the Metalheads, but also describes an attitude to life to which the young thrash metal band has dedicated itself. The band’s name is closely linked to its history. Frazzled, from which the band emerged, disbanded back in 2014 after three gigs and subsequent line-up changes. The search for new members took Anika and Stephan three years and it wasn’t until mid-2017 that a quartet was formed again. Old and new songs were quickly polished up again until the bassist resigned at the beginning of 2018. A bitter setback, but one that Anika, Philipp and Stephan were not prepared to accept. Anika, who had been playing guitar until then, took over the bass and the band became a trio. The motto was Now more than ever, or rather: Revenge Attack.
Musically, the band focuses on Bay Area thrash metal. Hard, old school riffs and catchy melodies are paired with modern elements and sounds. In the beginning, great emphasis was placed on two-part guitar leads, but now Anika plays some of the leads with Stephan on her distorted bass, while others have been meticulously rearranged and recreated. Thanks to the new arrangements, the songs are now more homogeneous, tidier and heavier and are also significantly faster. Whereas before the band stopped at 180bpm, today they warm up at 190bpm. Philipp’s aggressive drumming, with lots of hard snares and rimshots, has made the music heavier and much closer to Bay Area thrash. Energetic sound and varied lyrics invite you to headbang.
Highly motivated, Revenge Attack want to conquer the stages of this world and pulverize the bones of their audience with their board. The 3 of them already played on 10.06.19 as support act for their heroes from Death Angel and Evil Invaders.
